I woke up fairly early today, my parents are visiting from out of town.  So, the plan is to head out to pick them up in about an hour or so.  A little bit of shopping and running around with them and probably go for lunch too.  I believe that my mother needs to go to IKEA, and we another mall so I might take some time to look at some kitchen furniture. 

I am considering remaking my kitchen with a classic kitchen style.  While modern kitchens are an interesting design, the classic look has been drawing my attention lately.  One of my friends recently redid their kitchen and it changes the whole feel of the house, and that is making me want to do mine too.  I like IKEA furniture, because it is just so cheap! 

It doesn’t have the same feel as high end furniture, but that is too be expected.  The same friend that redid their kitchen used IKEA cabinets for the kitchen and it looks pretty nice, you wouldn’t think IKEA the moment you see it.  However, I am typing right now on an IKEA desk/bookshelf combo and you can definitely tell that the quality isn’t too high.  Not that I am complaining because you can’t find anything as nice as IKEA for the same price. 

Back to my classic kitchen ideas, I want to go classic white, with minimal colors in the room.  There will be stainless steel and some 50’s style color palettes.  I am pretty excited about it, but just wanted to post up some info on my current ideas. 

Time to head to the shower and get my day started, I suppose I shouldn’t be leaving my parents waiting for me too long.  Hopefully they can help me find some bargains to get started on my kitchen remake.
